before migration, during their transit and upon arrival through a qualitative research based on migrants’
experiences of irregular migration to Canada, with a focus on Afghan and Syrian migrants.

They live mostly in slums, are the largest refugee population anywhere in the world, and feel abandoned by their politicians as their country goes to the polls. Across the border in Pakistan, there are at least 1.6 million registered Afghan refugees. Experts say there are many more in reality – and they have no right to vote back home. Director Nassim Majidi shares her insights.
