NRC - Workshop on Education and Livelihoods of Afghan Youth to Inform Voluntary Repatriation, Tehran

Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) from Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan gathered in November 2015 in Tehran for a regional meeting on Afghan refugee issues with a thematic focus on Afghan displaced youth to which Samuel Hall was invited to participate. At a time when displacement in and out of Afghanistan continues to rise, when the number of Afghan asylum seekers grows steadily in Europe and debates on durable solutions for Afghan refugees remain, it is all the more necessary to take stock of the profiles of the millions of Afghan youth outside of their homeland, and those who made, with their families, the decision to return.

IOM - Evaluation of the Somalia Awareness Raising Programme, Nairobi

Samuel Hall co-founder Nassim Majidi was commissioned to lead the implementation of the Kenya migration profiling exercise in accordance with IOM’s migration profiling methodologies and the guidance provided by the migration profiling contact group and to oversee the drafting of the migration profiling report. It contributed to IOM’s project “Migration Profile in Kenya: Building Capacities to Promote Evidence-Based Policy-Making” through a two-phased approach: drafting the full IOM Migration Profile for Kenya, and leading a capacity-building exercise and workshop with policymakers and technical workers from the Government of Kenya, to take on board the lessons from the profiling exercise. The workshops led to discussions on a Migration Data Management Strategy (MDMS) for Kenya.
